“I won’t take his head off” – Khamzat Chimaev WON’T fight “nice guy” Robert Whittaker because he likes him

Khamzat Chimaev and Robert Whittaker
Yes, it is true that Khamzat Chimaev is “coming for everybody” and he will indeed “kill everybody” but that does not apply to veterans like Robert Whittaker and other fighters that the Chechen admires and respects.
The new “Bogeyman” of the UFC roster caused havoc leading up to the fight at UFC 279. Not always do you see people feel grateful that a fighter missed his weight for the scheduled fight but Khamzat Chimaev missing the welterweight limit by 8 pounds surely did turn out to be a win-win for the fans. Chimaev not fighting Nate Diaz resulted in the UFC shuffling the matchups in the main card.
Khamzat ended up fighting Kevin Holland in a five-round bout in the co-main event but “Borz” barely needed a round to get done with “Big Mouth”. The Chechen absolutely bullied his way to another win and absorbed no strikes from Holland. Chimaev won the fight via submission and silenced his haters. (Well, some of them at least)
Despite Khamzat managing to find an opponent in the last moment, it is not a guarantee that the UFC will be able to pull something as ridiculous as UFC 279 again when Khamzat fights. Chimaev fighting in the middleweight division after his weigh-in fiasco is a real possibility from now on. Khamzat has a few names he won’t fight and Robert Whittaker is one of them from the 185-pound division.
Khamzat Chimaev is open to training with Robert Whittaker

Chimaev has called out the middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya several times but fighting the former champ of the 185 division is surely not on Chimaev’s wish list. “I like that guy. I don’t want to fight some good guys, I need some bad guys,” said the “Hitman” Khamzat Chimaev during the UFC 279 post-fight press conference.
“I wanna fight some bad guys and don’t feel sorry for that. So, I want to train with that guy [Robert]. He is really good, one of the best guys in the world. I was watching his fights,” said Chimaev on why he wouldn’t fight Whittaker.
“A lot of guys want to fight me, so Robert never said something bad about me. A lot of guys are talking sh*t about me and I can go take their heads off so we will see,” concluded Khamzat on why he wouldn’t fight Whittaker. It is very likely that we see Khamzat fight, Colby Covington, next on his return. In the middleweight division, it is still doubtful if Khamzat fights at 185 next.
