MMA veteran Chael Sonnen is at it again with the trolling. Throughout his career, Sonnen trolled some of the toughest fighters on the planet, such as Anderson Silva and Michael Bisping. However, the retired fighter switched gears and went to a popular Basketball player in recent months. The victim is Los Angeles Lakers player and NBA juggernaut LeBron James.
Recently, Basketball player LeBron James tweeted an anecdote. James recalled a hilarious scene from the 1985 comedy Teen Wolf. The Lakers star wrote, “Sitting here watching Teen Wolf (1985). The last basketball scene when he didn’t go back to the wolf is the funniest basketball I’ve ever seen!!! And why/how is ole buddy standing under the rim at the end to win the game with free throws.” It did not sit well with the “American Gangster.”
Although LeBron James found it hilarious, Chael Sonnen did not. The retired fighter quote tweeted James and wrote, “Moving fwd, run all tweets past me first. Kinda a broad approach. Like, seek my approval before speaking. Let Uncle Chael help.” This hilarious tweet garnered much fan attention as the likes and retweets come in. His masterclass in trolling succeeded once again, and the detractors of LeBron James found it hilarious.
“The American Gangster” Chael Sonnen is one of the pioneers in popularizing the UFC. His outspoken personality and trash talk toward opponents remain a fan-favorite aspect of the sport of MMA. Despite his retirement in 2014, the fighter’s memorable moments inside and outside the octagon are frequented and reminisced through videos by fans and viewers alike.
When Chael Sonnen accused LeBron James of PED usage
UFC veteran Chael Sonnen came out as a PED (Performance Enhancing Drug) user not too long ago. The fighter often talked about the benefits it causes to athleticism. On the Flagrant podcast hosted by Andrew Schulz, “The American Gangster” accused NBA star LeBron James of steroid intake. The retired fighter alluded to the fact and failed to hold back.
“If the world understood what LeBron did, other basketball players will hear what LeBron does and go ‘That doesn’t matter,‘” said Sonnen. He continued, “If you knew what these performance enhancers did, then you would know why it does matter.” “I know exactly what he’s doing. It matters, it’s the reason LeBron takes it,” said “The American Gangster.” He spoke on the changes and endurance it brings to athletes who are famous and had a long-lasting careers.
On several occasions, Chael Sonnen has jabbed at LeBron James. The retired fighter also claimed to want to ‘kick LeBron’s ass’ in press conferences. Sonnen’s dislike toward the NBA star remains unmatched and remains second to only Colby Covington.
