Rampage Jackson was an incredible character and a big shot in the UFC. The 45-year-old now runs his podcast. Here is what happened in one of his recent episodes:
Quinton Jackson discussed sparring with a UFC heavyweight during one of their episodes on the JAXXON PODCAST. He said:
Over the years Kongo has kneed me in the nuts at least a dozen times. Man, it makes me better though. Kongo made me a better fighter. It made me a better fighter training with Cheick Kongo.Rampage Jackson via JAXXON Podcast
The fighter Rampage Jackson talked about here is Cheick Kongo. He is a French mixed martial artist and former kickboxer. He fought in the heavyweight division for the UFC. Meanwhile, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is a former UFC light-heavyweight champion. Jackson has a professional MMA record of 37 wins, 14 losses, and 0 draws.
Rampage Jackson never officially retired from MMA. Jackson left the UFC in 2015 but continued fighting in MMA. However, the now 45-year-old fighter has not fought since COVID. It will be interesting to see if Rampage Jackson picks up the gloves again and enters the octagon to treat his fans with yet another fight. Jackson’s last fight was in 2019 when he was knocked out in the first round by Fedor Emelianenko. Jackson said he was not happy with his performance and that he could not leave his fans like that.
Rampage Jackson on Conor McGregor’s comeback
According to Rampage Jackson, fighting is way more mental than it is physical. He recently said that he believes Conor McGregor should fight one match before fighting Michael Chandler. Jackson believes that McGregor should regain his mental focus and sharpen his mindset for optimal performance in the octagon.
Conor McGregor has officially declared his comeback in a highly anticipated fight against Michael Chandler. McGregor announced that the fight is this June in Las Vegas at International Fight Week. His opponent will be Michael Chandler, and the fight is set at 185 pounds.
The MMA community is highly excited by Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return to the octagon. Although no official announcements confirming Conor McGregor’s claims have been made by the UFC yet. It will be interesting to see if Rampage’s suggestion holds and shows in the Irish superstar’s performance against Michael Chandler if they do fight at International Fight Week.
