The rumors of Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera having a bad camp ahead of UFC 299 were false. Michael Bisping did some fact-checking and shared his findings in a recent video on his YouTube channel. Here is what happened:

Aljamain Sterling recently said that he heard from multiple sources that Marlon Vera had been struggling with some unknown issues. However, Michael Bisping cleared the air in a recent video on his YouTube channel. He said:

So, I was talking to Parillo last night and I'm like, 'Have you seen this, what Aljamain Sterling's saying? Did he have a bad camp?' Parillo was laughing his head off. He's like, 'No, did not have a bad camp.' In fact, he sent me some footage. Let me tell you right now, 'Chito' Vera is looking like a nasty bast**rd. He's knocking people out in training.

Bisping also said that Parillo has brought in “taller and longer” training partners to ensure Vera is prepared for his rematch against the reigning bantamweight champion. Additionally, even Vera denied these claims, saying that his camp had been going well and that he was ready for the fight. He also accused Sterling of trying to get into his head by spreading these rumors.

Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera will headline the main event at UFC 299. They will fight this March at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The two previously fought at UFC 252, where Vera scored a first-round knockout after O’Malley injured his leg. It was a controversial ending that O’Malley has refused to acknowledge. O’Malley became champion last year after he defeated Aljamain Sterling and this fight will be his first title defense.
