UFC veteran Chael Sonnen has made headlines again for a controversial tweet. The WWE universe and fans faced two major losses in Bray Wyatt and vintage wrestler Terry Funk in just a matter of two days. These losses have affected wrestling fans around the world in a devastating manner. Chael Sonnen made a joke about Bray Wyatt’s death which did not sit well with the fan base.

Sonnen took to Twitter, where he tweeted regarding Funk’s death, which was indirectly aimed at Wyatt. He tweeted, “Stealing Terrys heat.” Sonnen joked about how Wyatt’s death stole the spotlight off Funk’s passing just a day after. This tweet by the former light heavyweight has upset fans, calling him out for his insensitive and inconsiderate tweet. Sonnen has a history of making absurd and controversial comments on social media.

This is not the first time that Chael Sonnen has spoken about the WWE. Sonnen had some harsh words for the organization when they tried to sign Stockton fighter Nate Diaz. He also had some beef with WWE superstar John Cena. The deaths of Wyatt and Funk devastated the WWE universe. Sonnen’s joke left a bad taste in the mouths of professional wrestling fans.

Although Sonnen received several contract offers, he has never made an appearance in the WWE. He received a $1 million contract to appear on Monday Night Raw in 2012 if he defeated Anderson Silva for the middleweight belt. Sonnen, known for his excellent trash-talking abilities, would have had a successful career in the WWE.

Sonnen has a history of trash-talk and is known for his active social media presence. He has always replied to people who hate him or try to prove him wrong. Even though his tweet about Wyatt and Funk remains controversial, Chael Sonnen stated it was not aimed to disrespect Bray Wyatt.

Sonnen took to Twitter, where he replied to a comment that said “Terrible Tweet” while mentioning his tweet about Funk. He replied to internet personality Fes Ashburn by saying he did not understand what Ashburn talked about. Sonnen went out to roast the user by saying that nobody cares about his “59,000 tweets,” and that it was odd for him to judge the topic.

Sonnen’s trash language is not for everyone but remains undeniably effective. He’s used it to get into his opponents’ heads and sell fights. As a result, he’s become one of the most popular fighters in the UFC. Fans will look forward to seeing more trash-talk rants from the UFC legend.
