“I love everybody here. This is where I started my career, it’s been a long 20 years, 50 some fights. Sometimes your favorite basketball player don’t have that 3-pointer no more. Your favorite quarterback loses that rifle. I don’t feel the same when I get in here no more. It’s been 20 long years. I love this f****** sport. I’m a multi-millionaire. I didn’t start with nothing. I can say I’m good for life now.” In the post-fight interview.

Surely Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal were hoping to have a championship grudge match. But after the loss Masvidal suffered, he gave up his MMA career and retires from the MMA field. Masvidal in a prefight press conference already said that he and Edwards will have a PPV match if he registers a win over Burns.

At UFC London in 2019, Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal had a notorious altercation. After Masvidal’s knockout victory over Darren Till, he was being interviewed when Edwards walked past and exchanged words with him. The situation quickly escalated, and Masvidal punched Edwards three times in the face.

Despite both fighters expressing interest in settling their differences in the octagon, their paths diverged. Edwards experienced multiple fight cancellations, causing him to take a break from fighting, while Masvidal went on to compete for the world title twice. Looks like their rivalry ended now.
