Leon Edwards is finally getting his long-due title shot against the welterweight king, Kamaru Usman. Edwards had to go on 9 fight undefeated streak to get here, and just as everything was looking good for him, rumors of Conor McGregor making a welterweight comeback and fighting for the title came to fight.

Former double champ, Conor McGregor is recovering from a broken foot injury he sustained in his fight against Dustin Poirier, while many thought he’d come back and avenge his loss against Poirier, but Conor bulked up, and now he looking to get back in the welterweight division, he showed interest in fighting Usman for the belt, and even though nobody from the roster thinks he deserves this fight, Dana White, and Usman are more than ready to make this happen.

Chael Sonnen even claimed, the UFC offered Leon a huge amount of money to just walk away from this fight. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said, “I am being told that Leon has been offered his show and his win [money], whatever was negotiated for Leon to fight Kamaru is being offered to him.

Chael continued, “‘We will mail you a cheque to step aside. We have the right to push you aside, we don’t want any hard feelings and we acknowledge that you deserve this. So, we are going to send you what you agreed on and you get to stay home.’ With the belief being that Conor’s going to step in.”

He then added these are just rumors, and he doesn’t actually believe in them, “I don’t believe this rumour by the way, I’m just sharing with you anytime you don’t have something locked up… Leon is not done. There are some real moving parts there, quite frankly I don’t know if we are going to see Kamaru Usman fight in two years from now.”

Edwards took notice of this and responded with a Tweet, he wrote, “Chael what the f*ck you on about.”
