Sean Strickland is on his way to his first title defense. As such, he has a surprising new training partner. A recent video of UFC lightweight Jalin Turner training with Strickland has surprised the internet. Here is what happened:
The video showed the two fellow UFC fighters at the Millennia MMA gym in Southern California. Both were wearing shin guards and gloves and exchanging light blows and kicks at each other. However, what everybody noticed was that Jalin Turner was not the one taking the beating. Despite being in a lighter weight class, Turner was going head to head with the UFC champion.

Strickland will defend his title against Dricuss Du Plessis at UFC 297. “Tarzan” recently scored the headlines speaking about his childhood abuse and PTSD. He also discussed how his parents’ and grandfather’s influence shaped his personality.
Meanwhile, Jalin Turner is also known as “The Tarantula.” He is an American and he competes in the UFC’s lightweight division. Turner has been a professional since 2016. He boasts a record of 14 wins and 7 losses, with all 13 of his wins coming by finish.
The lightweight prospect competed for Bellator MMA, the World Series of Fighting, King of the Cage, and Tachi Palace Fights. He was inspired to train in MMA after watching UFC fights on TV. Turner’s most recent fight was in December 2023 against Bobby Green, which he won in the first round.
