Luke Rockhold is all set to make his comeback inside the octagon after three long years. He is going to fight Paolo Costa this weekend at UFC 278. Rockhold hasn’t won a single bout in the last five years. Hence, this fight is a massive opportunity for him.

Costa, on the other hand, is also on a two-fight losing streak and is desperate for a win. The Brazilian was criticised a lot for his unprofessional behaviour in his last fight. However, this time, Costa is looking for a comeback and is in amazing shape.

Luke Rockhold recently appeared on the ESPN MMA original The DC & RC show hosted by Daniel Cormier and Ryan Clark. In the interview, Rockhold opened up about how fighters think about each other while competing.

The fighter believes that all the fights are personal considering the fights’ impact on their lives, dreams etc. He further added that MMA is a life-altering sport and it’s obvious that things will get personal. However, after the fight ends, fighters know that it’s all business and are here to make money. He said :

“I think every fight is personal. You are going against another man, you are taking his dreams, his hopes..you are threatening his life. So It’s gonna get personal, but at the same time, it’s not. You know this is business, too; you know, this is not business. This is just for myself.”

Rightly so, most fighters mostly shake hands and show respect to each other after the final bell rings. However, there have been some occasions where the bad blood was real and fighters genuinely hated each other. But, that just some expections.
