Luke Rockhold vs Paulo Costa is shaping up to be a wonderful fight for the co-main event at UFC 278. The two middleweights get heated in the pre-fight press conference and did not hold back any words.
The former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold is back and he is fiercer than ever. The California native is matched against the Brazilian middleweight fighter Paulo Costa. The two are set to fight in the co-main event of UFC 278 and light up the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Luke has been very bold and honest in the lead-up to this fight and has also fired some shots toward the company and its boss, Dana White. Costa was bound to catch some strays during the pre-fight presser when the two faced each other for the first time.
Though Paulo is an exciting prospect for the division, his stocks took a brutal hit after his weigh-in mishap from his last fight against Marvin Vettori. The fighter absolutely made a fool out of himself by not making weight in two different weight classes and still went on to lose the bout. When things got heated during the presser, Rockhold couldn’t help but take digs at the Brazilian’s amateurishness.

Luke Rockhold says Paulo Costa has never dealt with adversity in the octagon
Luke is returning to the octagon after 3 whole years and is faced against a knockout monster. Paulo is confident that he will walk through the veteran in this upcoming fight. Rockhold had a very brutal reply to Costa during the trash-talk rally between the two at the presser. “Have you ever dealt with adversity? The one time you dealt with adversity you missed weight by 20 f**king pounds,” said Rockhold to silence Costa in the UFC 278 pre-fight conference.
Paulo’s last fight was against Marvin Vettori, a known wrestler in the middleweight division. Up until Marvin, Costa mainly dealt with strikers inside the octagon and had great success. The fighter has five wins in the UFC and four of them have come via knockouts. Vettori, despite facing a heavier Paulo Costa, showed dominant wrestling and got himself a decision victory.
