Luke Rockhold is really feeling himself in the lead-up to his comeback fight at UFC 278. The former middleweight champ is matched against Paulo Costa and both the fighters have been letting the insults fly. Recently, Rockhold has been taking a lot of digs at Costa’s appearance and has accused the Brazilian of undergoing facial features because of the influence of steroids.
37-year-old Luke Rockhold is finally making a return to the octagon after a three-year-long gap. The fighter has been off for quite some time now and has found a match in Costa, 31 years, to be very interesting. The former champion is looking to give another try for the title charge before he hangs his gloves and this time he is looking very confident for his UFC 278 fight that takes place at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rockhold has given some great sound bytes during the promotions for this fight and his interview with The Schmo truly is Rockhold in his element.
Rockhold is not one to be known for his trash talk, however, at UFC 278, his jokes have landed quite well. in the interview with The Schmo, the reporter asked Rockhold about what he believes is the secret behind, Paulo’s “SECRET JUICE” and Luke dropped hints of the Brazilian consuming performance steroids. This matchup was previously made and canceled a couple of times. Before ending the interview, Luke took a jab at Costa and said, “Let’s just hope this guy doesn’t come out looking like Caitlyn Jenner, you know.” Not often do you see Rockhold coming up with lines like these. Luke Rockhold takes more “cosmetics” digs at Paulo Costa during the presser
When the pre-fight promotional interviews were this heated between Paulo and Luke, it was no surprise that the two fighters absolutely went in during the pre-fight press conference at UFC 278. Both the middleweight fighters did not hold back with their insults. Luke repeatedly had to remind Costa that he bailed out on the fight several times before the promotion actually forced him to take this fight.

“This motherf**ker didn’t want to take the fight in the first place, the UFC had to force it down his throat. Then he delayed it twice. Month after month, and all the COSMETIC bullsh*t you got done, you little b*tch,” Rockhold said aiming at Costa during the pres-fight presser at UFC 278. Paulo Costa took all the insults like a champ and welcomed them with a smile. Mostly because the Brazilian is only coming to grips with his English. Nevertheless, this is the most aggressive Luke has been during the pressers with his insults against his opponents.
Luke is an underdog heading into this fight and Paulo is a favorite to knock out the former middleweight champion. Both the fighters have the ability to finish the fight and if the actual fight is good as the lead-up, then the fans are all in for a treat. Who do you have winning this fight?
