While Paulo Costa always confuses the MMA fan base on the internet with his risky trolling tactics, Luke Rockhold doesn’t buy any of that stuff either hilariously or seriously. Rockhold, the former Strikeforce middleweight champion and the former UFC middleweight champion, is returning to the Octagon after a layoff of more than 3 years when he will face Costa at UFC 278. Called by many a “gifted athlete” in his prime, Rockhold is known for his wins over the likes of Chris Weidman, David Branch, Lyoto Machida, Michael Bisping and many more.

Costa is a former UFC title challenger who went on a 13-fight winning streak by winning over the likes of Yoel Romero, Uriah Hall, Johnny Hendricks and many more before losing his title shot against current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Costa then lost in another non-title fight for the first time when he fell short against Marvin Vettori via unanimous decision. Both Costa and Rockhold are on a 2-fight skid and are therefore looking for a win in an important manner.

In an interview with The Schmo, Rockhold talks about his fight against Costa, his take on Bo Nickal, his reaction to his teammate Marlon Vera’s win against Dominick Cruz this past weekend and much more. In the midst of all, Schmo asks Rockhold about what’s in Costa’s “secret juice” that the Brazilian always talks about on his social media.

“Secret juice, you know, that’s always the recipe a lot of these guys, huh [chuckles]. They always try to find this secret juice. You know I just rely on hard work and a lot of Aqua Fina. Focus and effort and we’re gonna show him what kind of juice it takes… I have got a good recipe of taking guys down that like to drink that secret juice,” says Rockhold.
