Manel Kape and Israel Adesanya were involved in a verbal altercation on stage during the UFC 293 press conference. The altercation saw Tai Tuivasa and Sean Strickland hilariously diffuse the tension. Kape threw a bottle at Kai Kara-France, which enraged the middleweight champion.

Now, Manel Kape has taken it to X (formerly Twitter) to further troll “The Last Stylebender.” Kape tweeted, “I’m the guy that make you sit down.” The comment was with respect to the words he had for Adesanya during the pre-fight press conference. The altercation became a surprise as people expected Strickland to trigger Adesanya rather than Kape. Nevertheless, Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya minced words before and after the Kape incident.

Kape will face Felipe dos Santos in the event. His original opponent, Kai Kara-France withdrew due to a concussion suffered during training. Felipe dos Santos was to fight at the Dana White’s Contender Series but circumstances gave him a golden chance. If he pulls an upset, it would get him into the rankings of the division in his debut. Kape would focus on finishing quickly to have one more bout before 2023 ends.

Manel Kape has a history of his opponents withdrawing from fights. Deiveson Figueiredo, Alex Perez, and Kai Kara-France were scheduled to fight in Kape in 2023. Kape is on a three-fight win streak after losing his first two bouts with the promotion. His debut loss came against current flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja. Pantoja outpointed Kape for the majority of the three rounds.

When Manel Kape and Israel Adesanya went off at each other on the mic, Sean Strickland and Tai Tuivasa gradually diffused the situation. The hilarious interaction incited a fun reaction from the Australian crowd. The altercation happened when Adesanya jumped in to defend Kai Kara-France. The flyweight Kiwi is a teammate of the middleweight champion at City Kickboxing.

Tai Tuivasa, along with Tyson Pedro, remained calm at the press conference. The Kape-Adesanya altercation was fascinating as it produced a hilarious moment from Jon Anik, who replaced Dana White as the moderator. The Jon Anik moment was similar to the Kevin Hart meme circulating on social media. The fact that Sean Strickland tried to calm the champion down was the funniest moment of them all.

Tai Tuivasa is to face Alexander Volkov in the co-main event of UFC 293. Tuivasa hollering at Alexander Volkov after the Kape incident was another funny moment from “Bam Bam.” Tyson Pedro will be opening the pay-per-view card against Anton Turkalj.
