“Free Nate Diaz” Marvin Vettori asks the UFC to take decisive action on Nate Diaz’s future with the organization
Vettori has suggested the UFC should accept Nate's demands and let him go
Marvin Vettori has developed an interesting friendship with Nate Diaz. The Italian dream has been seen hanging around with the Stockton Bad boy often in their home state of California and even have trained together multiple times in the past. As Vettori tried to find his way to a third fight against Champion, Israel Adesanya he had some words of advice for the UFC when it comes to dealing with his friend and training partner.
Vettori who was originally supposed to be ready for a bout in Singapore is simply back in training now as Robert Whittaker had to pull out, courtesy of an injury, and now is waiting for the bout to be rescheduled. In the meantime, he is busy giving interviews about his former and future opponents including Sean Strickland, Robert Whittaker, and even Alex Pereira. In a recent interview with the Schmo, Vettori was asked about how he feels about the situation developing between the UFC and his friend Nate.

For those who are unaware, Nate Diaz has been in a lengthy battle against the UFC since his bout at UFC 263, where he faced Leon Edwards in a five-round fight. Diaz created an iconic moment in that fight where he landed a flush 1-2 on Edwards that had him wobbled and on the back foot for the last 30 seconds of the fight. Since then, Nate has only one fight left in his UFC contract and he wants out. For months now, the UFC megastar has been openly asking the company to book him for his final fight or to let him go, both variables that the UFC has not been receptive to.
Diaz has often taken his frustrations to social media where he openly asks the UFC for him to have his final fight, with Dustin Poirier seeming like a very attractive option to Diaz. When that didn’t work the star openly started asking the company to set him free from his contract, even tagging the wrong Hunter (Campbell) on Twitter leading to another iconic Daiz moment. Most recently he resorted to urinating on the UFC PI, posting a photo with the caption “I could do this cause I get paid more than all uguys and they won’t cut me”
When Vettori was asked about how he felt about Nate’s situation, he said, “I don’t know exactly what is going on” while smiling Vettori exclaimed, “Yeah man free Nate, if he wants to go let him go you know.” Do you think Nate will finally be granted his final fight or will he be sent off from the organization before that?
