“Do we forget Jose Aldo”- Max Holloway doesn’t consider him or Alexander Volkanovski as the greatest featherweight of all time
Max Holloway, Alexander Volkanovski and Jose Aldo
UFC featherweight Max Holloway does not feel he or Alexander Volkanovski are the best featherweights of all time. Holloway will face Volkanovski this Saturday at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. It will be their third bout, having previously clashed in 2019 and 2020. Both fights were won by The Great via decision, and they were regarded among the finest fights of the year.
According to fans, the winner of the trilogy bout will be the finest featherweight ever. When we examine Holloway and Volkanovski’s accomplishments, it’s impossible to disagree. Holloway, on the other hand, is not persuaded.

“That’s just the cherry on top”- Max Holloway on earning a rematch with Alexander Volkanovski
Max tells the press, “Not at all. A lot of fans, a lot of people are saying it. Do we forget the man Jose Aldo? The man got eight title wins. I have five title wins. Until someone can beat his records as a champion with the eight title wins, then they can consider themselves the GOAT in featherweight. I got five to get here. To get Alex for my sixth title win. That’s just the cherry on top.”
“It’s cool I’ve got the wins, but the title defenses are the title defenses. That is the actual record,” he continues. “ He got eight title wins, I’ve got five. We’re not that far behind him. Hopefully, I can catch him, we’ll see what happens. He’s the GOAT, bro. You can’t take it away.”
So, even though Max Holloway and Jose Aldo fought twice, it appears that despite having two wins over Aldo, Holloway does not think he has overtaken him yet.
