Max Holloway is the former UFC featherweight champion. He will challenge Justin Gaethje for the BMF title at UFC 300. Holloway is a fan favorite, and the BMF title fight at UFC 300 is the co-main event of the PPV. Preluding his title fight, MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin interviewed Holloway, who stated that he and Gaethje were a dying breed.

Holloway and Martin also talked a lot about the fight game, and at the end, Holloway revealed his favorite type of shoes. This is what he said.

I mean, you gotta be a Jordan 1 guy, man. So clean, different colors, everything. You can get anything for any outfit. So, I'm a Jordan 1 guy.

Nike released Air Jordan 1 in 1984, and it started the renowned Air Jordan shoe line. The company released it for Michael Jordan to use, but he never used it in court. Due to the immense popularity of Michael Jordan, the shoe line was and still is a massive success. Interestingly, UFC CEO Dana White is a sneakerhead, as are UFC fighters Kevin Holland and Jamahal Hill.

Max Holloway last fought at UFC Singapore against The Korean Zombie. TKZ retired after the fight, which Holloway won via third-round knockout. Before that, he defeated Arnold Allen in a five-round unanimous decision. Both of the aforementioned fights were Fight Night headliners.

Max Holloway predicts UFC 298 headliner

UFC 298 is the upcoming PPV event of the UFC. Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria will headline the PPV in Anaheim, California. Max Holloway has fought Volkanovski three times but has never won. He lost the title to the Australian at UFC 245. Moreover, he fought twice to reclaim the title; at UFC 251 and UFC 276. The fight at UFC 251 was extremely close, but Volkanovski won via split decision.

Volkanovski is coming off a knockout loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 294. On the other hand, Topuria is coming off a dominant five-round decision victory over Josh Emmet. Moreover, he is undefeated in professional MMA. In his interview with Damon Martin of MMA Fighting, Max Holloway stated that Volkanovski would win at UFC 298.

Holloway did not explicitly state the victory but hinted that it is hard to bet against Volkanovski. The BMF title fight has the full concentration of Holloway at present. However, he still has plans to reclaim the featherweight title. If Topuria wins at UFC 298, Hollway will have an easier path, but a victory for Volkanovski will put him further back in line.
