Max Holloway is returning to the lightweight scene after a whole five years. His 155-pound return bout takes place on the main card of UFC 300 on April 13 against Justin ‘The Highlight’ Gaethje. Former champions Deiveson Figueiredo and Cody Garbrandt will open up the historic card, which garnered a reaction out of Holloway.

Former two-time flyweight titleholder Deiveson Figueiredo competes for the second time in bantamweight against Cody Garbrandt. After UFC 283, Figueiredo shocked the world by announcing his bantamweight move after his skid to Brandon Moreno. Now, Holloway resounds his awe on such big names opening up the prelims.

Like...how do you put Deiveson Figueiredo, who, like had one of the most craziest...[and] some of the best fights at 125 as a champion...against a former champion in Cody at [100 and] 35? And they are the first card...it's insane...it's a huge card...I'm excited to be a part of the card and you know, it's just history, man...

One has to understand the magnitude of the fight card if two former champions open on the prelim spot. This fight could headline any fight night card or take up the co-main event spot on any other PPV. However, Dana White and the UFC have put on one of the most iconic cards of recent times. Even Holloway acknowledged the star power on the card and revealed his happiness about being part of it.

Holloway received the call to fight for the BMF title at the historic card. If he can defeat Gaethje, Holloway might find himself in the lightweight title picture as well as the featherweight one. Hence, the Hawaiian fighter has the most to benefit from the historic card. Recently, he revealed the name of a UFC legend who could make the UFC 300 even more iconic.

Max Holloway wants a UFC legend to return at UFC 300

Recently, Coleman saved his parents from a house fire and survived a life-threatening situation. Hence, Holloway wanted the iconic heavyweight champion to present the BMF title due to his status as a ‘real-life BMF.’ Check out what Holloway said in the below tweet:

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson presented the belt in the inaugural ‘BMF’ title. Consequently, the inaugural BMF champion Jorge Masvidal wrapped it on Justin Gaethje at the UFC 291 headliner. Holloway wants Mark Coleman to do the honors, presenting the silver strap at UFC 300. It is not a bad idea by any means and only time will tell if the UFC lets it happen.
