“Sneezed and threw your back”- Max Holloway tells DC how his route to the title fast-tracked because of his ‘old-age’

Former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway shares his thoughts on what Arnold Allen, a fellow Featherweight fighter, should do to get a title shot. “Blessed” shares his advice for Arnold with Daniel Cormier in a post uploaded to Instagram by the official UFC page.

Arnold is ranked #6 at Featherweight and currently riding the high of his 11-fight win streak. Max says his title shot came when he was on a 9 fight win streak, fighting on a card headlined by DC. 

He jokes that Daniel Cormier sneezed and blew his back which led to Max getting an opportunity to fight for the title. Max says, “I got my title fight by accident because DC was on the card…You sneezed, you threw your back out and I got my title fight.”

“Fight some old guys”- Arnold Allen gets advice from Max Holloway on how to get to the top

Max Holloway shares what could be a definite title path for Arnold. According to him, Arnold ought to fight on a card with some old dudes in the main event and his shot at the title will come. Max while in a conversation with DC (telling Allen indirectly) says, “The smartest thing to do is go and fight under some old guys and go get your interim title fight.”

DC looks like he enjoyed the story though he does ask Max when he became so disrespectful, maybe DC should have seen the disrespect coming considering the numerous times Max has called out DC for a fight.

Arnold Allen even responds to the post, commenting with emojis that appear to be him taking notes. At the present, he appears to be in a very excellent position to win the title chance, especially if he continues to kill his opponents the way he ended Dan Hooker in his previous visit to the cage; who knows, maybe Max’s wisdom may come in helpful while he waits.
