Michael Chandler wants to fight Conor McGregor

Tony Ferguson took on the former Bellator MMA’s lightweight champion, Michael Chandler on the main card of UFC 274. Ferguson, who is well known for his legendary 12 fight win streak, lost a stepping and ended up on a 3-fight skid. He promised to make a comeback in this fight, but his opponent was no joke.

Michael Chandler’s UFC debut was a thing to behold, he knocked out Dan Hooker in the very first round of their contest, and it granted him an immediate title shot. After a great start, he got knocked out by Charles Oliveira, and that ruined his title dreams of Chandler. He came back to fight Justin Gaethje for the number one contender spot, but after a fight for the ages, he lost that fight as well.

Both of them acquired the center of the octagon, just as the fight started, and we saw a more calm and cautious approach from Chandler. He started with leg kicks, but Tony checked them to break his rhythm. A looping hook was countered by Tony, and that dropped him. Tony went hot on his trail but Chandler did a good job to recover, and he landed a great takedown to end the round on top.

Chandler sustained a cut over his eye, and Ferguson was oozing with confidence after a great first round. He went to his corner full of energy, and both acquired the center of the octagon just as round 2 started. Chandler started moving forward and landed a vicious front kick to knock Ferguson out cold.

Nobody believed what they saw, and Chandler lost his mind after this. He landed a backflip, and everyone in the arena just froze. Ferguson is known as the toughest fighter on the roster, and to see him getting knocked out like this was hard for the fans.

For Chandler, however, it was a great moment, and he made full use of this opportunity to call his shot. He issued a call-out to the sports’ biggest star, Conor McGregor, he said, “Conor McGregor, you gotta come back and fight somebody. I am the most entertaining lightweight on the planet, I want to up the stakes Conor.”

“I want you at your biggest, I want you at your baddest, and I want you at your best, you and me at 170. This Summer, this fall, this winter, I’m coming for you boy. God bless! And see you at the top,” he concluded.
