Michael Chandler remains one of the most entertaining fighters on the UFC roster. Despite making his UFC debut in 2021, in his thirties, the American fighter fought only the top competitors in the company. However, the fighter highlighted a particular moment in his career to voice his opinion on talking to a fighter after a loss. He referenced his fight against Charles Oliveira at UFC 262 to describe his point of view.

Michael Chandler said, “I think the most disrespectful thing that you can do to a man after he just gets knocked out or whatever cause you’ve seen guys like ‘oh good job man,’ to me that is so disrespectful.” Chandler stated that the loser should go to the winner than the other way around. He stated that the loser should be given time to come to terms with the loss before the winner embraces him. He continued, “It is something other than sportsmanship masquerading as sportsmanship.”

He said, “Charles Oliveira showed up under the brightest lights, the biggest opportunity, the title eliminator, to get him back to a title shot. It remains to be seen if he will get the next title shot against Islam Makhachev, but the way that he fought Saturday night at UFC 289, the dude looks like he is coming back for that title.”

Chandler also hoped to rematch Oliveira to avenge his loss at UFC 262. It appears that Oliveira will challenge the champion Islam Makhachev for the title, whereas Chandler will hope to fight Conor McGregor.
