In his post-fight press conference, Nate Diaz gave his unfiltered opinion on his originally scheduled opponent for UFC 279 Khamzat Chimaev. After the UFC pre-fight press conference debacle, the official weigh-in show brought more problems for the promotion as the main eventer Chimaev failed to make the contractual limit.

Last minutes changes were made to the card, in the main event fight, Diaz now was set to face the former Interim Lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson. While Chimaev took on Kevin Holland in the co-main event in a catchweight bout.

Diaz was fighting his last fight in the UFC as per his contract as he has not renewed his contract with the promotion. While Ferguson was looking to break his 4 fight-losing skids. He originally bulked up to Welterweight to fight Li Jingliang but last-minute changes led to him facing the Stockton star in the main event.

The main event saw the two legends who never got the chance to share the octagon fight. Although El Cucuy landed some really good leg kicks, Diaz’s boxing was slick and in the fourth round when Tony initiated a takedown. Diaz immediately locked a Guillotine Choke to finish the fight in the fourth round.

Following his win at UFC 279 main event, Diaz attended the post-fight press conference. He discussed his win against El Cucuy and went on to praise his opponent for his achievements in the UFC. He further discussed his plan ahead after his final fight in the promotion.

He also discussed how a last-minute change of opponents was frustrating as he was preparing for Chimaev but had to fight Tony instead. When asked about his assessment of Borz’s performance, Diaz went on to criticise Chimaev for his performance in the co-main event.

The Stockton star replied to the question with a barrage of insults in his own style stating, “Yeah I watched it while warming up, Lame, Scared, Boring, Rookie, whack, lame, p*ssy, lame, d*ckS*ker, all of those things.”

Although the last-minute changes were loved by the fans as they originally didn’t want Chimaev and Diaz to fight and would instead want Diaz to fight Ferguson. The Stockton star rolled out of the promotion in style defeating a legend and riding out of the promotion in style.
