Nate Diaz recently expressed his wish to headline the UFC’s inaugural event at the Las Vegas Sphere. The UFC booked the $2.3 billion arena for UFC 306 in September on the Mexican Independence Day. Although the return of Diaz hyped up the fight fans, UFC legend Daniel Cormier had a contradicting opinion. He didn’t want the Stockton Native to headline the event. This soon received a furious response from Diaz.

In a recent tweet, Nate Diaz trashed Daniel Cormier for his opinion of not wanting him to headline UFC 306. He posted an image of the former champion crying from UFC 214 and called him a ‘Bi***.’ Known for his trash-talk and unapologetic nature, Diaz didn’t hold back from insulting Cormier. Here is what he said:

This bi*** is not a fighter. Complete opposite. Good talk DC.

Coming to Cormier’s comments about Diaz, he mentioned not wanting to see Diaz’s headline UFC 306. However, he was willing to watch him fight at the Las Vegas Sphere on the main card. He simply wanted to give the headlining opportunity to active fighters who deserved the spot.

Nate Diaz last fought Tony Ferguson in the UFC at UFC 279. Although he won, he left the UFC to pursue a boxing match with the internet sensation Jake Paul. Despite losing the bout, he earned a lifetime’s worth of money. Diaz is a free agent looking for a fight, whether in boxing or MMA. As such, rumors had him facing Jorge Masvidal next. But no official announcement has happened.

Daniel Cormier looks at the potential opponents Nate Diaz could headline a UFC card

Nate Diaz recently wanted to re-sign with the UFC and headline the promotion’s first event at the Las Vegas Sphere. This received a critical comment from Daniel Cormier. Also, while explaining his thoughts about it, the former champion looked at Diaz’s potential opponents. Earlier, Cormier wanted Diaz to face Conor McGregor in UFC to settle their score.

On his YouTube Channel, Daniel Cormier wanted to state his honest opinions despite liking to watch Nate Diaz fight. As such, he only saw Diaz headlining a UFC card with either Conor McGregor or Jorge Masvidal. Here is what he said:

There are only a couple of people that he can headline a pay-per-view with right now, just because of where he is in his career. I think that’s Conor McGregor if they do the trilogy and possibly Jorge Masvidal. While the name value is exciting, Nate Diaz the fighter isn’t that guy anymore.

To prove his point, Daniel Cormier even brought up Nate Diaz’s last UFC fight with Tony Ferguson. As such, there is some truth to Cormier’s statements. However, Diaz looked furious about it and fired back shots at him. Anyway, Diaz enjoyed his life outside of competition and looked content. Nonetheless, he still remains an active fighter and looks for viable opponents.
