For quite some time, Nate Diaz has voiced his interest in fighting in the UFC 300. Since it is a monumental fight card for the UFC and the most anticipated PPV card this year, most fighters want to be part of it. So, Diaz wasn’t an exemption. He took to X to remind everyone of his canceled UFC 200 event and called for a chance to headline UFC 300.

In the most recent tweet, Nate Diaz shared a poster of his canceled bout for UFC 200. He and Conor McGregor were set to headline the colossal fight card but, for some reason, were canceled. Years later, he called his shot to headline UFC 300 and described it as better than headlining UFC 200. Here is what he said:

I was supposed to headline UFC 200. Headline UFC 300 would be better.

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor agreed to a rematch after the former defeated ‘The Notorious’ in an upset win. As such, they were set for UFC 200 as the main event. But, McGregor withdrew from the event after disagreements with the UFC. However, they met again in UFC 202, which settled the score for the Irishman. With 1-1, this called for a trilogy, but it never materialized. With UFC 300 desperately needing a star-studded lineup, Diaz hinted at wanting a McGregor trilogy.

Although the idea of Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz sounded great, ‘The Notorious’ already announced his return for June 2024 against Michael Chandler. Also, Diaz and the UFC parted ways long before, and now he has a boxing bout set against Jorge Masvidal. So, the probability of Diaz vs. McGregor 3 was slim. However, UFC 300 has announced some exciting fights and is getting ready daily. As such, the fight card goes down in April in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

Mike Perry ready to take on Nate Diaz at UFC 300

Mike Perry found a home in Bare Knuckle fighting and became a big name for the BKFC. Now, after hearing Nate Diaz commenting he didn’t have an opponent for UFC 300, Mike Perry volunteered. As such, in the ‘Overdogs’ podcast, Perry directly called UFC CBO Hunter Campbell and called his shot to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 300.

In the conversation with Hunter Campbell, Mike addressed Nate Diaz’s tweet, stating that no one should fight, and he expressed his interest in returning to the UFC. On that note, he talked about his purse money and was ready to put on a show. However, Campbell dismissed the idea and suggested Perry talk to Diaz and do the fight in BKFC. So, within seconds, Perry’s proposal was turned down, and a potential fight for UFC 300 fell off. Anyway, here is how ‘Platinum’ approached the UFC CBO:

Nate Diaz says there’s no one to fight on UFC 300. I’m saying me and Nate, y’all could bring me back for a little purse and then throw in the PPV points, and then we could have a great show for UFC 300.

Mike Perry earned his accolades in the BKFC and now hailed the promotion’s ‘King of Violence’ title. As such, a showdown with the ‘Stockton gangster’ in the UFC would be thrilling. But the possibility wasn’t there anymore. Also, reportedly, Nate Diaz was to take on Jorge Masvidal in a boxing bout in early 2024, putting his availability for UFC 300 in question. So, what’s next for Diaz is to be seen.
