Paddy Pimblett and Paulo Costa seem to be brewing a friendship as the two fighters bond over weight-cut issues. The Liverpool fighter has a few words of encouragement for his fighter friend in Brazil as he looks in amazing shape ahead of his fight against Luke Rockhold.
Paulo Costa is no stranger to weight cut issues. His previous saga at the weight scale sure did turn a lot of eyes his way leading up to the upcoming fight against former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold. One-time title contender Costa has been seeking weight cut tips from his new lightweight friend from Liverpool, Paddy Pimblett. Costa has always been very playful and engaging on his social media platforms and one such interaction turned out to be the beginning of an interesting friendship.
In a recent tweet, Paulo showed off his physique and wrote, “Da boy still on fire I hope luke get in that cage, I’m working hard for this.” Pimblett who gave his word to help Costa cut weight for his next fight responded to the tweet and wrote, “My man trimming down we be ready.”
Costa replied to the Scouser’s heart-warming message and wrote, “Yes sir LFG my man!!!” Costa was initially scheduled to take on the former champ earlier this year but the fight has been postponed to another month. Paulo will be Luke’s opponent on his comeback fight.

Pimblett has been receiving a lot of criticism for ballooning to 200 lbs during his off-season. A lot of experts have criticized the Liverpool fighter for his unhealthy eating habits. However, Paddy has always been confident in his body and said he will not miss weight for his upcoming lightweight bout against Jordan Leavitt at UFC London on July 23rd.
The fighter is coming off two straight wins in his time in the UFC. Paddy has gained himself a massive fanbase in the short time in the promotion. His previous bout in London at the O2 Arena was a massive hit as he pulled off an amazing submission victory against Rodrigo Vargas. Pimblett is currently 18-3-0 in his professional mixed martial arts career. Pimblett in his latest tweet posted his weight loss and said that he is on for July 23rd against Jordan.
