Paddy Pimblett is one of the rising contenders on the UFC roster. Pimblett last fought and beat Tony Ferguson at UFC 296. In a recent interview, he named UFC star Conor McGregor as his dream opponent.

Paddy Pimblett recently talked to Rob Moore on his YouTube channel. There Pimblett divulged about a potential fight with UFC star Conor McGregor. Pimblett also detailed how he would beat McGregor if they ever fought. 

Wouldn't want to give too much away. No, obviously he's a striker. Put him on his back, try and submit him.

Paddy Pimblett wants to fight McGregor at Anfield which is Liverpool Football Club’s home ground. He said that he would fight McGregor because he would get paid more to fight him than any other opponent. However, the potential of this bout ever happening is low. Looking at the state of Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC octagon, they are likely not fighting anytime soon. Pimblett remains positive saying anything can happen, and agrees that a lot of people would like to see that fight.

Pimblett’s last fight against Tony Ferguson was a lackluster affair where he defeated Ferguson by unanimous decision. Pimblett had been out of the cage for a year after suffering an ankle injury in his previous fight. Paddy said he won every round quite easily. However, he did acknowledge Ferguson to be one of the toughest to ever step in the cage.

Conor McGregor recently confessed that he is unlikely to pursue acting again. He mentioned his potential comeback to the UFC octagon. McGregor mentioned that he wasted camps in preparation for his UFC return.

McGregor expressed a desire for more consistency in his training. He was preparing for a fight early this year in January and even for December before that. He had camps set up in Cannes in the south of France, and Dubai and trained with some world champions.

However, according to McGregor a lack of transparency on behalf of the UFC led to all these camps getting wasted. He said that he eventually started losing interest and got busy with other activities. Does this mean the UFC is avoiding its biggest star?
