“Dana White privilege” – Nate Diaz, Ariel Helwani, and fans furious over Paddy Pimblett’s “gifted” unanimous decision victory at UFC 282
Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282
Paddy Pimblett’s recent unanimous decision win over Jared Gordan at UFC 282 might have just added a lot of fuel to the “UFC rigs fights for superstars” conspiracy.
Paddy Pimblett made his PPV debut today against a strong opponent, Jared Gordon at UFC 282. The superstar from Liverpool was fighting in front of a packed American crowd for the first time and he might not end the year as a fan favorite. A fight that was undoubtedly close, and some might even argue that the fight was leaning towards a decision victory for Gordon, ended up going in the favor of the Scouser.
Not long ago, Pimblett was being painted as “Dana White’s pet” for joining hands with the UFC boss to go on a tirade against journalist Ariel Helwani. After the fight, the judges of the Nevada Commission scored the contest 29-28, 29-28, and 29-28 for the Liverpool fighter. While Pimblett sure had some great moments, he never really dominated his opponent.
Several superstars including Nate Diaz, Aljamain Sterling, Paul Felder, and others were clearly upset that Paddy The Baddy was awarded the victory. The judges’ decision triggering the MMA community is not new but this decision from the Nevada judges sure did bring out a reaction like never before.
Fans believe Jared Gordon was robbed against Paddy Pimblett
If the decision did not upset the fans enough, Pimblett rubbed some salt in their wounds by saying the fight was “not close” at all. There is no doubt that Paddy The Baddy is now a villain in the eyes of the fans. Check out some of the reactions from the MMA community toward this controversial decision.

Was that one of the worst decisions ever? I think you can make a case. I’m blown away that not a single judge had it for Gordon.
Jared won. Give him the fight

You lost that fight ??
I felt Gordon won but TBF here, the @UFC doesn’t control the judging. The state commission picks and controls the judges in place. https://t.co/gjP1StcBuU

Pimblett is now undefeated in his UFC career and extended his record to 4-0 with his controversial decision victory earlier. Pimblett also ridiculously claimed that he deserved Fight of The Night to which the T-Mobile Arena gave a dead reaction and rightfully so. What were your thoughts on the judges’ decision?
