“I stole everything” – Paulo Costa BRAGS about stealing spotlight from Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279

Khamzat Chimaev- Paulo Costa

Paulo Costa has truly won over the fans in recent times. While Khamzat Chimaev struggles to be in the good books of the fans, Paulo picked the right time to pick a beef with the Chechen superstar.

UFC 279 was a complete rollercoaster of diabolical events. The pay-per-view event had everything from backstage brawls, heated exchanges at the UFC performance institute, impromptu matchups, and amazing fights. Khamzat Chimaev, somehow, was responsible for almost all of the above chaos.

Paulo Costa on the recent MMA Hour episode went off on the Chechen superstar and bragged about stealing his spotlight. “Chimaev, because he’s on a high, I stole some of his high. I stole his sleep, I stole his cap, I stole his main event fight. I stole everything,” said Costa on the MMA Hour show.

Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev

Khamzat has taken over the UFC by storm and is currently one of the favorites to fight for the welterweight title. “Borz” however has put that shot at the title in huge doubt after his disastrous weigh-in at UFC 279. Following his struggle to make 170 pounds, Khamzat and his team are seriously considering a move to the middleweight division.

Chimaev has previously fought at the middleweight and has comparatively found it easier to make 185 pounds. Chimaev, despite his stardom, won’t have a direct shot at the middleweight title. Paulo Costa, the former title contender could be the perfect stepping stone for Chimaev if he wants to get to the top flight at 185.

Given the newly stirred beef between Chimaev and Costa, there are high chances we see the two fight each other in the middleweight division. Paulo is already down to fight the Chechen. Would you like to see the two fight each other?
