“Let’s fight moron”- Paulo Costa calls for a rematch as Robert Whittaker drops out of UFC 275 scrap against Marvin Vettori
Paulo Costa and Marvin Vettori
Paulo Costa last fought against Marvin Vettori when he lost via unanimous decision in a five-round main event. Marvin who was supposed to fight Robert Whittaker in June has no opponent now as Robert got injured in his training camp. Both Paulo and Vettori have lost their respective title fights against Israel Adesanya in the past two years.
Paulo Costa on hearing the news of Robert dropping out of his fight was quick to call out Marvin for a rematch. Costa did not make weight for his last bout against Vettori upsetting his opponent and UFC president Dana White. Although the fight itself was quite an interesting affair. We’ll see if Dana makes this fight happen. Fans will be very interested to watch Paulo and Marvin square off again in the Octagon.
Paulo Costa got offered Luke Rockhold, labels him as the “worst” opponent
Paulo Costa is on a two-fight losing streak and is working hard and looking for a fight to put an end to that streak. Paulo suffered a TKO loss to champion Israel Adesanya and then lost via unanimous decision against Marvin Vettori in a catchweight fight of 195 pounds. He was unable to make 185 pounds last time out.
Recently in an interview with AG Fight, he revealed he was offered former UFC champion, Luke Rockhold, by the UFC. Paulo Costa was not a fan of the opponent as he refers to him as the “worst” option available. Luke Rockhold is one of the most celebrated fighters in the division. He has fought and won against the likes of legends like Michael Bisping. Luke Rockhold is often criticized for having a weak chin after getting knocked out by Jan Blachowicz and Yoel Romero. It remains to be seen if Paulo takes on Luke as it will be a very intriguing stylistic matchup for the fans.
