Costa is scheduled to face Luke Rockhold at UFC 278
No matter how much his image has been affected by unprofessionalism, Paulo Costa is not the one to stress about and keeps going with his humour even as he prepares for his next fight. Costa, a former title challenger at 185 lbs, last fought in October 2021 when he lost a unanimous decision to fellow former title challenger Marvin Vettori. However, the fight week was quite contentious due to Costa negotiating to fight at the upper weight class of light-heavyweight as he was missing weight by a huge mark.
Costa is still #5 ranked middleweight and is now looking forward to fighting former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, at UFC 278. The fight card is taking place as UFC’s first-ever event in Salt Lake City, Utah, the United States. The main event is a welterweight title bout, a rematch between the champion Kamaru Usman and the challenger Leon Edwards. Costa is known for his wins over the likes of Uriah Hall, Yoel Romero and many more.

In a Twitter post ahead of his fight against Rockhold, Paulo Costa uploads a photoshopped photo of himself having an Afro and being fat and says in the caption “Let’s make weight this time” The UFC has assured Costa’s opponent, Rockhold that the organization is closely monitoring Costa’s weight and any last minute messes are therefore less likely to happen. Also, UFC Lightweight Paddy Pimblett is helping Costa be ready to fight at 185 lbs. Pimblett himself is widely known for his wild weight cuts, dropping to 155 lbs from way up 200 lbs.
