“Son of a b*tch”- Paulo Costa criticises UFC referee Jason Herzog with great vehemence over his point deduction
Paulo Costa & Jason Herzog
Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold will square off in a middleweight matchup at UFC 277, according to ESPN. Both parties have vowed to fight even though no contracts have been signed. On August 20, the bout will take place at an undisclosed site.
After beginning his professional career with a 13-fight winning record, Costa is attempting to end a two-fight losing streak. He fell short in title fights against Israel Adesanya at middleweight in September 2020 and Marvin Vettori at light heavyweight in October. Middleweight was originally the weight class for the fight, but it was switched at the last minute when Costa arrived heavier than usual.
“He stopped me only after 2 pumps”- Israel Adesanya responds to Paulo Costa and recalls his experience with Jason Herzog
Jason Herzog, the UFC referee, was called out by Costa. He referred to Herzog as an official with “bad intentioned” on Twitter. The Brazilian argued that while Herzog swiftly docked him a point for poking Adesanya in the eye during their 2020 fight, Sean O’Malley wasn’t similarly punished for the same offence he performed on Pedro Munhoz at UFC 276.
Costa took to Twitter where he stated, “Jason Herzog this guy is bad intentioned. I I repudiate this kind of fake professional. he took 1 point from me in the very first unintentional eye poke. and guess what, fate is cruel. the eye poke much more serious that pedro received he didn’t get a point. you son of a bitch” Here is the said Tweet:
Adesanya won’t allow him to protest peacefully, on the matter being his long time foe. Israel took to Twitter where in the, “I know right…He stopped me only after 2 pumps!! While Paulo further replied to the same Tweet and added, “I should kick his head unintentionally that time.” Here are the said Tweet:
The allusion to Adesanya’s notorious post-fight antics versus Costa at UFC 253 was made. The Brazilian was defeated by technical knockout, and then Israel insulted him by dry-humping him from behind. If one was to speculate, assuming Costa were to be victorious against his bout with Luke, the fans might get to see them square off once again. Until then, one can sit back and watch the cards unfold.
