“Two wins, I’ll be on line”- Paulo Costa is itching to challenge Israel Adesanya again for the middleweight title
Paulo Costa
Paulo Costa used to be the hottest middleweight contender, and he was expected to beat the reigning middleweight champion in a highly anticipated battle. These two squared up against each other at the main event of UFC 253. Adesanya completely outclassed Costa and stopped him in the 2nd round of their contest to retain his belt.
He then returned to face Marvin Vettori for the spot of number one contender, but Paulo refused to make weight, and it enraged the fans all over the world. Many deemed his behavior absolutely disrespectful, and Dana White said he’d never allow him to compete in the middleweight division ever again.
Costa’s team talked to Dana, and they were able to get him into a middleweight scrap against Luke Rockhold. In a recent interview with The Schmo, Rockhold was asked by the reporter about a hypothetical situation where Costa doesn’t make weight and asks the bout to move up a division.

Rockhold replied, ”Little insight, there’s nothing to that, the UFC will be monitoring his weight weekly, and we’ll be dancing at a proper weight” dismissing the possibility of that happening.
Rockhold also revealed that there were further delays in finalizing the fight due to Costa’s unprofessionalism saying, “The star was supposed to be 2nd July, then it was the 30th now the b**ch is trying to move it August.”
Costa recently answered some questions on Marshall Inu’s Q&A. Costa accepted the fact that he made some mistakes in the past, but Costa believes he is very close to the title. “I never give up to get the belt,” Costa added. “I did some mistakes, I lost the last two fights, so I need to win this one and look forward. But I believe two wins, I’ll be on line to fight for the belt again.”
