According to ESPN, Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold will fight in a middleweight contest at UFC 277. Despite the fact that no contracts have been signed, both sides have sworn to fight. The fight will take place at an unannounced location on August 20.
Costa is looking to snap a two-fight losing run after starting his professional career with a 13-fight winning record. Against Israel Adesanya at middleweight in September 2020 and Marvin Vettori at light heavyweight in October, he lost both title battles. The weight class for the fight was initially middleweight, but it was changed at the last minute when Costa showed up heavier than normal.
UFC referee Jason Herzog is harshly criticised by Paulo Costa for his point deduction
Costa criticised the UFC referee, Jason Herzog. On Twitter, he described Herzog as a representative with “Bad intentions.” The Brazilian said that while Herzog immediately deducted him a point for jabbing Adesanya in the eye during their 2020 battle, Sean O’Malley didn’t receive the same punishment for the same offence he committed against Pedro Munhoz at UFC 276.
Costa posted on Twitter, saying,”Jason Herzog this guy is bad intentioned. I repudiate this kind of fake professional. he took 1 point from me in the very first unintentional eye poke. and guess what, fate is cruel. the eye pokes much more serious that pedro received he didn’t get a point. you son of a bitch” Here is the said Tweet:
