Paulo Costa suggests Jake Paul to fight this CRAZY MANIAC!
Jake Paul
Paulo Costa is a man of chosen words. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, he detailed his terrible weight cut last year against Marvin Vettori, that Luke Rockhold fight, his purse, and more. At UFC 278, Paulo Costa was largely touted to defeat the aging Luke Rockhold. Despite having the height and reach advantage, the 37-year-old ex-Middleweight champion of the UFC, Rockhold, was expected to be finished by Costa, whom the fans adoringly call the terminator.
Back in 2019, Costa dropped Yoel Romero to fight his way to a decision victory. Being a heavy puncher himself, and surviving another in the shape of Cuban Romero led many to believe that Paulo Costa would test Rockhold’s frail chin early in the fight, and eventually finish him. But Rockhold survived the onslaught and gave a middleweight contest for the ages.
A seemingly even fight, with both fighters rocking each other a good few times across the 3 rounds, Costa eventually got the better of the American. The fight was close, and despite Rockhold coming in shape, his aging body could not keep up with the altitude of Salt Lake City. Huffing and panting, Luke Rockhold visibly struggled against a much better-conditioned Costa.
The highlight of the match, however, has to be Rockhold swearing at Costa, then rocking him with an insane jab. To be fair to the Brazilian, however, the ex-title contender ate what many others would have been wiped out by.
“He is the real deal and a wild fight”- Paulo Costa believes in Mike Perry’s ability to demolish Jake Paul
Jake Paul has emerged out of his YouTube stint to be a capable professional boxer. Till now, he has fought YouTubers Deji Olatunji, AnesonGib, ex-basketballer Nate Robinson, ex-UFC fighter Ben Askren, and spectacularly knocked out ex-UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in their rematch.
In a bid to claim legitimacy, and cement his position in the rankings, Paul has tried to actualize his feud with boxing Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury. The fight was scheduled for 6th August 2022, before Fury pulled out with an injury (for the second time). In stepped Hasim Rahman Jr., as a replacement for the injured Briton, but as luck would have it, couldn’t make weight – eventually leading to the cancellation of the whole event itself.

Paul is now on the hunt for an opponent that can give him a challenge, and provide him with legitimacy and laudits if he beats him. To this end, Paulo Costa has suggested vicious ex-UFC welterweight Mike Perry as a suitable candidate to box Jake Paul.
In a tweet that echoed his comments on Ariel Helwani’s show, Costa said “If @Jakepaul wants boxing mma fighters, do it right, call my man @PlatinumPerry ! He is real a deal and a wild fight to you Jake, but maybe you won’t this smoke right?!”
Whether Paul accepts the offer is to be seen in the near future, but with professional boxers wanting to cash in the payday offered by fighting by Jake Paul, it seems unlikely that “Platinum” will get the shot that Costa has suggested for him.
