“Stipe makes sense”- Dana White eyeing a massive showdown between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic for the summer

Jon Jones currently is absent in the rankings as he relinquished his light heavyweight world title after his bout against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247. He turned in focus preparing for his long-anticipated heavyweight debut and making sure he is in the right heavyweight frame. Jon Jones wants the best of the best in this division, even after a long lay off he doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
He himself claimed that when he took to Twitter to express the same. He stated “The greatest heavyweight of all time versus the greatest light heavyweight, who wants to see it? I’m game.”
He is expressing his interest in fighting none other than Stipe Miocic who is looking for a fight himself. As the champion is out for a year, from recovering from his injury. There have been talks of an intern title bout in the division.

Dana White on a potential matchup between Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones
Dana White is hopeful to get Jones back in the cage this year. In an interview with TMZ, White claimed the comeback for him which makes the most sense is Miocic.
“I was just telling somebody the other day, our lineup for this summer is incredible,” White said. “So I’m hoping Jones is going to be part of that lineup this summer. … Stipe makes sense.”
The UFC is looking for introducing an interim belt regardless, though, since reigning heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is expected to be sidelined for the rest of 2022. A matchup against these two would make sense for the division and a treat for the fans. Both the fighters have shown interest and the president of the company has also shown his interest, hence it is quite a big possibility we see these two square up in the near future.
