“Brutal Sport” Pros react to Brian Ortega injuring himself against Yair Rodriguez in the first round of their fight at UFC Long Island
Yair and Brian have agreed to run it back if Yair is not to receive a title shot
The main event at UFC Long Island between Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez, ended in the worst way possible with Ortega suffering a brutal shoulder injury in the very first round. It took a long time for the two massively talented fighters who also happen to be friends to square off in the octagon and it seems the MMA Gods want to keep the fans waiting longer to put this to close.
While for the short period the fight lasted, it was everything we promised we would get. Heavy Hands mixed with clinching and submission attempts. It is nothing short of a shame that the fight had to end the way it did, now leaving the waters muddy as to what happens to the title picture at 145. However, this is a fight nonetheless and one opponent having no energy or physical ability to continue is techinically what you are supposed to do.
The pros came out showing their sympathies with Ortega as he and Yair had to settle for an unresolved fight
