“Real G’s Make Weight” Pros react to Khamzat Chimaev’s massive weight blunder against Nate Diaz as UFC 279 Main Event is canceled
Chimaev was mocked by fighters for missing weight
The bout between Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz has fallen through as the Chechen missed weight by almost 8 pounds. After a week of controversy, this final act by Chimaev has turned a huge part of the community against him. The same goes with other fighters’ opinions about him.
Chimaev made headlines for all the wrong reasons this week. Starting with an altercation against Paulo Costa, where Chimaev was accompanied by his whole team while the Brazilian was by himself. Yesterday he was involved in a backstage brawl involving his and Diaz’s entourage that led to a press conference being canceled for the first time in UFC history.
Now with him topping it off by missing weight, with a margin wide enough to suggest that he never tried to meet the limit, many fighters have turned sour on his unprofessional behavior.
