Boxing is still on Sean O’Malley’s bucket list. The UFC star wants to fight a PPV boxer in his career down the line, preferably, Ryan Garcia. However, Radio Rahim, a popular boxing reporter is not a huge fan of O’Malley’s interests.
In the recent episode of the IMPAULSIVE podcast hosted by Logan Paul, Sean O’Malley and Radio Rashin got into an argument about the UFC bantamweight star wanting to fight boxing superstar Ryan Garcia in a boxing match. O’Malley believes if he and Garcia continue to thrive in their respective sports, in about 6-7 years, the two can definitely make a cross-promotional event possible.
“You being a UFC fighter, an excellent one, does not translate to you being a boxer in a boxig ring,” Rahim said to shut down O’Malley’s proposal to fight Ryan Garcia. “Ryan Garcia is not beating you in the octagon. Sorry, you are not beating Ryan Garcia in a boxing ring,” added the boxing reporter.
O’Malley was quick to remind him that he was not expected to beat Petr Yan at UFC 280 and he still did it anyways. “It is more of a spectacle than an actual competitive [fight],” said Rahim. When O’Malley asked if Rahim thinks the UFC fighter has a zero percent chance of beating Garcia in the boxing ring, the reporter did not hesitate to say, “Yes”.

Dana White believes Sean O’Malley can be UFC’s next superstar

Sean O’Malley has quickly become one of the biggest draws in the UFC. Dana White, the UFC President has full confident that if the Suga Show continues to perform inside the octagon, sky is the limit for the bantamweight fighter. His win against number-one contender Petr Yan truly put him in the top of the bantamweight division.
White, in an interview with TMZ suggested, O’Malley has a similar blueprint to that of Conor McGregor. “Conor, on his way up, won all of the key fights he needed to win. It’s not for a title or anything but Petr Yan is the number one ranked guy in the world,” said the UFC boss.
O’Malley went on to shock the world with his win against Petr Yan at UFC 280. The odds were completely against him and he proved the doubters wrong. The rising bantamweight is now very close to a title shot and could very well be the next title contender.
