Rick Ross recently made some comments on Jorge Masvidal. Ross challenged Masvidal for his “King of Miami” status. Ross hails from Miami and indicated a desire to buy the Miami Heat basketball team. He also trolled him for his infamous knee against Ben Askren. Here is what happened:

One of the hosts, Mike Majlak, asked Rick Ross what he had to say about Jorge Masvidal‘s status as the ‘King of Miami.’ To this, Rick Ross replied: 

Man, if he did a knee, congratulations. I mean, you did a knee. You know what I'm saying? Shoutout to George. He did the knee. You know what I'm saying? Shoutout to George, man. I heard you did the knee.

Rapper Rick Ross dismissed Jorge Masvidal’s claim of being the ‘King of Miami’ by jokingly referencing Masvidal’s infamous knee strike in a fight. Masvidal is a former UFC fighter who retired in 2023. He is a Miami native with a Cuban father and a Peruvian mother. Masvidal’s popularity and roots in Miami have earned him the nickname “King of Miami” among his fans.

As for the knee Ross mentioned, Masvidal executed a flying knee strike just 5 seconds into a fight against Ben Askren. This happened in July 2019 at UFC 239. The knockout occurred during the first round, five seconds into the fight when Masvidal ran forward and landed a flying knee on Askren, who was ducking. The flying knee knockout happened in just 5 seconds, setting a new record for the fastest knockout in UFC history.
