“If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be speaking to you today” – Raul Rosas Jr credited his parents for his success
Since Jon Jones became the youngest UFC champion aged 23, the promotion has been waiting for another fighter to break this record. While many have tried, no one has succeeded. However, the scenario may change with Raul Rosas Jr’s inclusion in the UFC.
After securing a contract in the UFC, Rosas Jr. has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in the promotion. Dominating his way to victory, Rosas Jr. has created a lot of buzz. While there might be many behind the 17-year-old’s success, ‘El Nino Problema’ recently credited his parents.
During an interview, Rosas Jr. said, “I’m very grateful for my parents because we lived in a small town – Clovis, New Mexico… and not just that, the mentality that they always gave us to always move forward- even if we weren’t fighters, to go out there and get a degree. So I am so thankful for them because if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be speaking to you today” He also added, “And we were comfortable. We had everything, and they left it all behind, so we could move forward in life.”
The 17-year-old vowed to become the youngest UFC Champion by the age of 20. Whether he becomes champion or not, is something only time can tell. However, in his last fight on Dana White’s Contender Series, Rosas Jr. showed a lot of potential.
