During a recent appearance in The MMA Hour, UFC lightweight veteran Renato Moicano advised Michael Chandler to move on from the prospect of facing Conor McGregor. As assured by UFC President Dana White, McGregor and Chandler are to fight at a future date. The fight is stated to happen in 2024, as soon as April. But it has been hanging in balance for quite some time.
“The division is a mess right now,” said Moicano. “We have guys like Michael Chandler, he’s delusional... Conor [McGregor] is not going to fight him. Maybe never…Conor is on another level of craziness right now, we can see from the past two years how [much] stuff he’s been doing outside of UFC, and I think he loves the attention, but he doesn’t like to fight anymore…”
Beyond the stated dream fight, McGregor and Chandler both also coach opposing teams of the TV reality show, The Ultimate Fighter. TUF Season 31 featured the matchup between Roosevelt Roberts (Team Chandler) and Nate Jennerman (Team McGregor). With Roberts winning, the aftermath of Jennerman distraught and crying in a video surfaced. Thus again catching the attention of Moicano in a hilarious way.
Despite recent losses to Dustin Poirier (with a leg-shatter in UFC 264), McGregor still remains one of the top names in the UFC. A fight between him and Chandler, if brought into the cards, is slated to be intense for sure.

Renato Moicano calls out Tony Ferguson following Michael Chandler Vs. Conor McGregor booking
The UFC had announced the Conor McGregor-Michael Chandler face-off, with them serving as coaches for The Ultimate Fighter. Tony Ferguson, was previously slated to be the most likely contender for McGregor. Following this, Renato Moicano has made a call out to Ferguson.
With his defeats against Beneil Dariush and Nate Diaz, Ferguson has fallen in grace and form to both fans and contenders. Many are gunning for and baiting him, which adds Moicano to the list, as of late. At age 34, Moicano is at a desperate point to try out the latency of a lightweight title run.
Moicano, the Brazilian lightweight star has been having a good run. His latest win came at UFC 281 when he submitted Brad Riddell. Before that, he gave a peak performance at UFC 272, against Rafael Dos Anjos. To him, it is now or never. While for Ferguson, he is matched up against rising star Paddy Pimblett to fight at UFC 296. Only the future will tell what the card holds for these two fighters, and if they get to face each other.
