Ian Garry received plenty of criticism lately on a range of matters. One such incident was his sudden beef with Vicente Luque, his former teammate. Luque and Garry trained together at Kill Cliff FC, Florida. However, they had to part ways when the fight between them was announced. Now, ‘The Silent Assassin’ confirmed that someone at their gym knocked out Garry.
Rising contender Brendan Allen recently revealed that someone from Kill Cliff FC gym had knocked out Ian Garry while sparring. However, he refused to name the fighter. When Michael Bisping brought this up to question Vicente Luque in his podcast ‘Believe You Me,’ Luque confirmed the incident. Bisping asked him who knocked Garry out in training. This is what Luque replied:
I can tell you it was not me.... Hopefully, it will be me on December 16.Vicente Luque via Michael Bisping’s YouTube Channel
Vicente Luque is currently ranked #8 and would be Ian Garry’s first opponent in the top ten. When the fight was announced, they were respectful to each other and shared a friendly moment on a phone call. However, Garry leaked the call recording on his social media, which violated Luque’s privacy. Furthermore, Garry posted a negative comment about Luque’s faith.
Ian Garry and Vicente Luque go into action in UFC 296 on December 16. Ian Garry was undefeated with a record of 13 wins and no losses, while Luque had a record of 22 wins and nine losses. Both of them are coming off wins against Neil Magny and Rafael Dos Anjos, respectively.
Ian Garry comments on Vicente Luque’s adult baptism
Vicente Luque welcomed lord Jesus to be his god and savior. As such, he went through adult baptism and recently shared the images of it on Instagram. He shared an emotional message in the captions as well. However, his former teammate and now opponent, Ian Garry, made a mockery out of it.
Ian Garry mocked Vicente Luque with a coarse comment on his Instagram post. He mentioned that Luque would face god on December 16, standing in front of him. He referred to himself as Jesus and made a mockery out of Luque’s belief. This comment from Garry received a lot of backlash on social media.
Vicente Luque was a humble and respectful human being. So, he didn’t make a big deal out of Ian Garry’s comments. Most fans hope that when they meet inside the octagon, Luque will be in full force to hand ‘The Future’ his first professional loss. This fight goes down as the main card opener in UFC 296.
