Robert Whittaker draws huge inspiration from Muhammad Ali as he finds his way back to fighting ways

Muhammad Ali- Robert Whittaker

Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker seems more focused than ever, considering he went through a razor-close battle with the man who once knocked him out in round 2. Current champion Israel Adesanya succeeded Whittaker and so far the wars against Adesanya have proved to be losses for the Australian. But Whittaker has seen those little victories in his last fight, the rematch against Adesanya at UFC 271 which gives him the light of one day becoming the UFC champion, again.

Whittaker was supposed to fight at UFC 275 but the former’s injury has cancelled the bout, unfortunately. The new date of his return is yet to be decided and whether Marvin Vettori will be his opponent on his return is also left hanging. Whittaker’s way from winning The Ultimate Fighter: Smashers Edition to becoming the UFC middleweight champion is no less of an inspiring story and on his way, Whittaker’s move in weigh-in from welterweight to middleweight proved to be one of the best ever career decisions taken by an athlete.
