“Like him HUNTING bad guys,” Robert Whittaker happy with Khamzat Chimaev liking him because of being a “nice guy”

Robert Whittaker- Khamzat Chimaev
Khamzat Chimaev may have shown his potential to make enemies, but he does make friends as well, if not quite often. Ask Darren Till and now Robert Whittaker about it as well. Chimaev is coming off a spectacular finish over Kevin Holland in the opening round of the co-main event of UFC 279 in T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas last weekend. This is Chimaev’s 11th finish in his 12-fight undefeated MMA run so far.
Even though Chimaev remained unapologetic and moderately rude against the critics of his weight-cutting debacle where he was stopped to cut below 178.5 lbs due to medical reasons, Chimaev managed to shed some light on the people he has a soft corner for, former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker was one of them. About Whittaker, Chimaev said in the post-fight media scrum of UFC 279: “I like that guy. I don’t want to fight some good guys, I need some bad guys.“
Robert Whittaker open to training with Khamzat Chimaev in the near future

In an interview with James Lynch under the banner of MMA news outlet Middle Easy, Robert Whittaker talks about his win against Marvin Vettori at UFC Paris, Nate Diaz’s win over Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 279, Chimaev’s weigh-in debacle and much more. Whittaker also reacted to Chimaev liking him and therefore him expressing his reluctance to fight against the Australian MMA fighter.
“I’m happy with that,” says Whittaker whilst laughing. “His personality is what you see is what you get, he’s wild, but he’s a phenomenal fighter and I like his approach on hunting bad guys *laughs*, I was really impressed with that Holland fight and I’m very interested in seeing where he goes with it.”
On the chances of training with The Borz sometime in the future, Whittaker said “I’d like to work with him because anyone that can implement game plans the way he has, and obviously his wrestling and his grappling his top tier, he’s trained with the likes of [Darren] Till as well and yeah, one day hopefully our paths cross and we can get some good work together.” Whittaker concluded.
What do you make of Chimaev and Whittaker possibly training together in the near future? However, if they ever fight, who do you think would win? As young and hungry as Chimaev is, Whittaker is also equally willing to put everything of his power on the line to get the third UFC title shot in his career. Only based on skill for skill, this will be one of the most exciting fights in MMA history.
