“Lucky to have you” – Ronda Rousey once expressed support towards Conor McGregor during a tough time for him

Ronda Rousey’s admiration for Conor McGregor worked as moral support for ‘The Notorious’ during a tough time in his career. His fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 was a disaster as the Irishman broke his leg at the end of round one. Due to this, the fight had to be stopped and Poirier was given the victory via doctor’s stoppage.

Despite being in severe pain from the injury, Conor McGregor continued talking trash to Dustin Poirier in the octagon. While many were surprised by his behaviour, ‘The Notorious’ found support in Ronda Rousey. She mentioned that the UFC were luck to have McGregor. On Twitter, Rousey wrote, “I’m amazed that as soon as you hit the ground you were already promoting the next fight, Conor McGregor. I [definitely] wouldn’t have had the mind to do that. The other fighters, UFC, and media are lucky to have you.”

These words by Rousey were noticed by Conor McGregor. Expressing his gratitude towards her, ‘The Notorious’ wrote, “Thank you for the message, Ronda! I appreciate it greatly.” While McGregor is expected to return in 2023, Ronda Rousey has been away from the octagon since her loss to Amanda Nunes.

Since Ronda Rousey is signed to the WWE, it is very unlikely for ‘Rowdy’ to return to the octagon. She has already established herself as a huge draw in the WWE and has even won championships in the company.

As fans keep wondering if Rousey would ever return to MMA, the former UFC bantamweight champion commented on the same, and said she had a special condition for her to return. On an episode of The Kurt Angle Show, Rousey said, “There’s only one person … there’s only one person I would come back for, I mean, I’ve said it a million times. It’s not like it’s something new. [I’d come back] for Gina, man— Gina Carano.”
