MMA legend Robbie Lawler geared up for his last fight at UFC 290. He faced durable fighter Niko Price at the International Fight Week. However, when fans felt Robbie might lose the final fight, he surprised everyone with an amazing knockout win. He knocked out Niko in under a minute to leave the MMA world forever.
Lawler made his UFC debut in the early days of Dana White’s reign as the company president. He was 19 years old during his UFC debut and became a fan-favorite fighter with a ruthless fighting style. He had an iconic fight with Nick Diaz in 2004. However, he left the company in 2004 to fight in other promotions. However, he came back to the UFC in 2013 with a vengeance.
Upon his return to the company, Robbie destroyed his competition to become the welterweight title. With a three-fight winning streak, Robbie Lawler challenged Johnny Hendricks for the vacant championship. He did, however, lose the contest by decision. He then defeated Hendricks in a rematch after going on another two-fight winning streak.
Now at the age of 41, Robbie’s body cannot fight at an elite level. However, it did not stop him from knocking out Price spectacularly. After a twenty-year career, Robbie will finally walk away from the sport with his head held high. He landed continuous amazing uppercuts to knockout Price, which shocked the fans. They were happy to see the MMA legend walk away with a win for his wife and kids.
