Sean O’Malley was unhappy that Chito Vera accused him of greasing his hair. The bantamweight champion had recently defeated his former opponent at UFC 299. O’Malley addressed Vera’s allegations on his podcast. Here is what happened:
Sean O’Malley recently addressed Chito Vera’s allegations on the TimboSugarShow podcast. He claimed that Vera did not even come close to smelling his hair. This is what ‘Suga’ said:
He comes out saying I’m greasing my hair. Bro didn’t even get close enough to smell my hair let alone think I — what was greasing my hair gonna do? I’m just like, be the bigger man, you don’t need to ruin his f life, you already ruined his career. Just be the bigger man.Sean O’Malley via TimboSugarShow

Vera claimed that the person who usually braided hair in the UFC used a little bit of water. However, when Chito fought O’Malley, he found O’Malley’s hair to be extremely greasy. Sean O’Malley brushed off Vera’s accusations and claimed the accusations were unfounded. Suga used the lopsided decision win as an example to mock Chito’s greasing claims. O’Malley even claimed to have certain information about Vera that could show his true colors.
Regardless, O’Malley defeated Chito Vera by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 299. The bantamweight champion avenged his only UFC loss, which he suffered against Vera back in August 2020. O’Malley outclassed Vera in performance and even delivered a brutal knee to Vera’s face that made it to the highlights of the fight.
Sean O’Malley talks about fighting Merab Dvalishvili and Ilia Topuria
Sean O’Malley dismissed accusations that he ducked Merab Dvalishvili. The Georgian bantamweight is the top contender to challenge O’Malley for the title next. However, O’Malley has called out Ilia Topuria during the UFC 299 octagon interview. Many believe Suga could struggle against the fighting style and pressure of Dvalishvili.

O’Malley said he did not take Dvalishvili lightly. However, he found Topuria to be a much more difficult and interesting bout. After defeating Marlon Vera at UFC 299, O’Malley immediately called out Topuria. This had extremely offended Dvalishvili, who had waited for a title fight for a while now. However, O’Malley later confirmed his decision to fight Dvalishvili next.
O’Malley vs. Dvalishvili could happen sometime later this year. Suga has vastly improved from the fighter he was in 2020. On the other hand, Dvalishvili has a cardio and wrestling advantage against the current bantamweight champion. Only time will tell what happens when these two compete against each other.
