Sean O’Malley has praised Aljamain Sterling for his recent victory against Petr Yan at UFC 273. Sterling Successfully defended his Bantamweight title at UFC 273 against Petr Yan and shut all the haters up. Aljamain won the title against Petr Yan at UFC 259 after Petr was disqualified for throwing an illegal knee to Aljamain in the 4th round.

While everyone was expecting the rematch to be a one-sided dominance by Petr, Aljamain showed that the fight was far from easy for Petr when he outmatched Petr with his grappling skills in the early round of the fight. Petr gained pace in the latter round and strike Aljamain with everything he had in the arsenal. The fight was very close and people even suspected a draw. However, judges score the fight 48-47, 47-48, and 48-47 in the favour of Aljamain Sterling.

Sean O’Malley, in his recent interview on The MMA Hour, appreciated Aljamain for his victory and said that he knew Aljamain will bring a different package in the rematch. When asked whether he was surprised about Aljamain winning the fight, Sean O’Malley said, “I was not surprised; I know peter’s really good but I also know Aljamain was really good um so I wasn’t surprised. He’s respectfully the champ.

As the MMA community lashed out at both the fighters for not engaging enough in a 5 round fight, UFC president Dana White claimed he dozed off during the fight. Recently, Sean O’Malley also discussed the Fight with Ariel Helwani and expressed his views.

Sean O’Malley claimed he stopped watching the fight after 3 rounds and also said that he was disappointed to see the fight. Sean said, “I feel bad because I mean they’re like such they’re sweet girls and it’s like we all feel bad saying that the fight sucks because they’re girls but I mean at the end of the day they are professional fighters getting paid big money to go out there and do you know fuc**ing fight and I actually left at the end of the third round.”

Sean also talked about his sleep pattern in his training camp and how he is training for his fight against Pedro Munhoz at UFC 276 on July 2. Sean will fight after 6 months as his last fight was in December against Raulian Paiva at UFC 269.
