Sean O’Malley expressed his desire to face Gervonta “Tank” Davis, suggesting a crossover fight between MMA and boxing. The bantamweight champion had previously compared it to the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather situation.

O’Malley called out Gervonta Davis at the UFC 292 post-fight press conference, expressing his interest in a potential matchup. He most recently reinstated that interest. Sean O’Malley was recently on Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast. This is what ‘Suga’ said: 

I'm gonna get that fight someday... The same way I would've said here...like same feeling I have...I don't know if it's going to be Tank...I'm gonna have a big boxing fight.

Sean O’Malley‘s MMA record stands at 17 wins, one loss, and 0 draws (1 NC). He also became the new UFC bantamweight champion at UFC 295. Despite O’Malley’s achievements in the UFC, coaches for Gervonta Davis remain unimpressed by O’Malley’s callout.

The coach suggested O’Malley would be defeated in a boxing match. O’Malley had a quick retort, expressing confidence in his ability. O’Malley made a stunning promise regarding a potential fight against boxing champion Gervonta Davis, indicating a strong interest in the matchup.

The 29-year-old aimed for this distinction after rising to the bantamweight title and bringing attention to the bantamweight division. Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. With a clear focus on 2024, Sean said: 

I believe I’ll be the biggest name in sports...I’ll knockout Chito, get one more fight end of the year, win that 2-0 in 2024.
