UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland recently opened up about his childhood trauma. This had recently led to a physical altercation with opponent Dricus du Plessis at UFC 296. Strickland also admitted to biting du Plessis during the incident. Here is what happened:

Strickland shared stories of domestic violence, where he often found himself trying to protect his mother from an abusive father. He also revealed that he used to always sleep in his mom’s room because he thought his dad was going to kill his mom. Speaking to Theo Von on his ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast, Sean Strickland said:

Whenever Dricus goes on there and he jokes about that s***, dude, you have no idea. I’ll f****** kill you, you have no idea. I think the issue is too, when you’re a kid and you’re made to be a victim your whole life, as an adult, you’re like never again. I’ll f****** kill you.

At UFC 296, Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis got into a fight in the crowd while watching the event live at T-Mobile Arena. The two fighters were close together due to poor seating arrangements, and the fight stemmed from a disagreement that began at the previous press conference. Strickland attacked du Plessis and began throwing punches in the middle of the crowd. They had to be separated, and Strickland was later removed from the premises.
