Sean Strickland has developed a feud with the Navy Seals community. The former champion received a warning from Jason Pike, a retired Navy Seal and combat veteran. Now, Strickland clapped back at Pike and accepted a fight with him to settle the grudge.

In his video message, Jason Pike threatened the former champion that he would be incapacitated in a real fight and would succumb to the ‘survival instinct’ of the Seals. Sean Strickland, in response, welcomed the challenge and wanted to take on the military officer. Here is what he said:

Listen, fighting is my job.. Ask me to fight tell me how much. If it's a good number I say yes... I train when I'm sick, I train on vacation. I take my job seriously. But violence is my love and if some navy seal influencer wants to give me a therapy session I'm game lol!!!!

The beef between the Navy Seals community and Sean Strickland started when the former UFC champion asserted no military personnel could endure the demanding training regimen of a fighter. He even challenged them to take part in a week’s training session alongside him.

Taking pride in their job, Seals couldn’t tolerate the nature of his comments. As such, Strickland received heat from their side, which took a whole new shape. A potential clash between one of the Seals and the former champion could happen. Earlier, he sought out a sparring match with David Goggins.

While a fight between Military personnel and a UFC fighter remained interesting, it remains highly unlikely. Sean Strickland recently lost his middleweight title to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. As such, he aimed for a rematch against the South African fighter to regain the throne.

What did Jason Pike say about Sean Strickland?

Sean Strickland rubbed the Navy Seals the wrong way when he audaciously claimed no Seal could withstand one week of MMA training with him. Listening to this, one of the Seals fired back shots at the UFC fighter. Retired military officer Jason Pike posted a video trashing the former champion.

In his video, Jason Pike embarrassed Sean Strickland, stating even an inexpert Navy Seal would ‘destroy’ him in a street fight. He even put himself forward and claimed he’d beat the former UFC champion mercilessly. Here is what he said:

Every single time you went for an armbar or a choke or something like that. I would chew your face off…Yet you think you can break men like me? Come to the street where there are no rules where we don’t have to worry about hitting you in certain areas, where there’s no bells, where’s it’s all about survival instinct."

After this message from Jason Pike, things only got heated. Sean Strickland accepted the street-fight challenge and actively went after the retired Seal. But, so far, no personal interactions exist between them except for their public statements online. One has to wait and see how things play out between them.
